NEW SONG / DEMO ALERT... "I'd like to thank Dylan Wright for giving me an amazingly unexpected surprise, when he sent this demo of a song to me a few months back. He had requested to view some of the contributed TNB writings and more info on the idea a few weeks beforehand, but I hadn't heard anything back from him. Then this arrived. It took me completely by surprise and blew me away, I didn't even know he was working on anything, so it became a very emotional moment. In a good way. It was almost the exact same feeling as I had felt when the very first song was sent to me a couple of years ago - 'Swapping Places'. That was the song that inspired me to help create The Noisy Brain. I hope that eventually many others can experience that feeling on hearing their own words played back to them. So please get writing and share your mental or emotional health experiences. It might help yourself and ultimately inspire and help others within our growing community." - @stu - thenoisybrain Hope you like the song. Click on the Link at bottom of post... 'Looking For' (WIP Demo) - STU X Dylan Wright FYI: This version of - 'Looking For', is still a work in progress. Both Dylan & Stu wanted to share it with The Noisy Brain community in its current raw form. Looking For (WIP Demo) Inspired & Influenced by the writing: - ‘Kintsugi’ - written and submitted by STU Vocal performance / Music Production - Dylan Wright Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/artist/0XjUzkpgj8t1MnxhROumUe?si=UutDKwG_RCOBgDZc2ugd8w Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/dylanwrightmusic/ What is the backstory for this Writing?: "I wrote this self reflecting rant, which on reflection I realised was inspired by Kintsugi. The Japanese art of Kintsugi teaches that broken objects (usually ceramics) are not something to hide, but to display with pride. This sentiment is also applied to human stories of overcoming trauma making people more valuable when healing themselves; repair requires transformation. They say that the pristine is less beautiful than the broken. The shape of us is impossible to see until it is fractured". - @stu - thenoisybrain “The world breaks everyone and afterwards many are strong in the broken places”. - Ernest Hemingway. Orignal Title: - Kintsugi Original Written Submission / Lyrics: You need to go through some things, to know some things. You need to make the mistakes, Make the wrong turns, and hit the dead-ends. Those things, they don’t break you. Those things, only make you. Kintsugi, says our uglyness is beautiful. Be thankful for the mistakes. Turning our negatives into positives. Repair requires transformation. The pristine is less beautiful Less beautiful than the broken. The shape of us is impossible to see… until it’s seen fractured and flawed. Flawed, I am flawed. But I’m tending to my flaws. The scars we bear mould us… into wiser more empathetic beings. The world breaks everyone and afterwards many are strong Strong in those broken places. Consumed by the depression, and lashed out in frustration it shouldn’t be what I’m remember for. I want to be someone who loves, someone who gives back. To know things. You need to go through things. You need to go through things, To know some things. You need to make the mistakes, Turn the wrong turns, Find the dead ends. There’s ...an optimistic apprehension. Theres a leap of faith... I’ll take it. To know things. You need to go through things, You need to go through things, To know some things. You need to make the mistakes, When you are blind to the future. Cause you was blind in the past. I’m changing my ways. Cause i got a record... the record got stuck. Kintsugi… I’ve made mistakes, I'm thankful for the mistakes Making me stronger, Kintsugi A feeling rushing through me. With the strength in going forward… Don’t ever… ever look backwards. You are more… You are more… ...more valuable moving forwards. © Stu - The Noisy Brain 2021
